Epirus Waste Treatment Plant turns Epirus into a Green Region
A model project that the European Commission in Greece has also described as a “culture project”, was implemented in record time, gaining the wide acceptance of the citizens of Epirus. The award-winning “Project of 2018” Urban Solid Waste Treatment Unit of Epirus Region, is located in Eleftherochori Dodonis and is an exemplary example of integrated waste management, producing energy from urban waste that is channeled into the country’s electricity grid.
The MEA of Epirus not only contributes to the reduction of waste and the upgrading of the environment, but also to the production of “green” energy making the Region of Epirus a “Green Region”.
